Gavin Shiu, currently our Alumni Association Secretary, has been diagnosed with leukemia, a form of life-threatening blood cancer.  Despite [chemotherapy], [biological], [targeted] and [radiation] therapy, the leukemia is not entering into remission. His doctor has stated that his best hope for a cure now is a bone marrow transplant, Unfortunately, he advised that no suitable donor is in the bone marrow registry.

On behalf of Gavin, his family, and the Alumni Association, we ask all Alumni, friends and family to be tested to become potential donors.  If you are on any bone marrow registry, Hong Kong or around the world, I urge you to update your contact information with them.

For those in Hong Kong, you can go to any Red Cross Blood Donor Centre and arrange to register yourself as a bone marrow donor by giving a small blood sample. It takes only 15 minutes and you may potentially help save a friend or another.
